I love shopping.
About a month ago, I bought some vintage clothing on a web store in USA. I was really looking forward to arriving my package. Even a week, I didn’t get an e-mail that the package was shipped. I worried about my lovely package. Because in Japan, generally we can get our oder in a week. Sometimes you can get them next day and Yodobashi camera ships them in the day.
I contacted the store “Has my order been ready? How long does it take about?”, but he didn’t reply. I worried again. Because in Japan, stores often send message every time getting already, moving them from warehouse to post office, sending, getting the package numbers, being moved by staffs.
But I kept waiting.
Even a few days my e-mail box did not get his reply, I sent him a DM on Instagram. “Hello, I ordered 10 days ago, has it been ready?”
Immediately he replied.
“soon”.
I texted just “okay”… and after that I stopped worrying but waited.
USA is huge.
Today the customs office contacted me and asked about my package from USA that was hold in KIX because it wasn’t noted correct address, content and more. I was frustrated but answered that. Then the staff said me “Please pay the customs duty to the delivery staff by cash on delivery. The tax will be abut 20% of your order.”
I didn’t know that I need to pay the duty for overseas shopping…
The package will come soon.
